This book is about the Michigan Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), the Michigan Child Protection Law (CPL), the judges of Michigan’s Court of Appeals (COA) and 7th Circuit Court, and officials at Davison Community Schools (DCS). The legal question raised and answered in this book is: Does a person who is accused of suspected child abuse by a public school official in a Child Protective Services Referral Report, that they send to the Michigan Department of Human Services (DHS) for investigation, have a legal right to know the information in that report? When my FOIA request for such information was denied by Davison Community School officials, I filed a lawsuit in the 7th Circuit Court of Genesee County. I acted as my own attorney, In Pro Per, throughout the litigation.
My wonderful mother is my book reader and can read a book in two days. I love her for helping me out in this area because lets face it there's just not enough time in my day to read a book. I am again thankful that my mother is willing to help me out in this. So no further ado here is my mothers take on this book.
The Freedom of Information Act was created to protect U.S. citizens. Child Protection Laws were created to protect our children. This book is about both, written by David E. Bloch.
Mr. Bloch brought his future wife to the United States from the
Ukraine. After they married and had a daughter Mrs. Bloch filed for
divorce. The school system filed a report with CPS. Throughout the divorce Mr.
Bloch tried unsuccessfully to receive the handwritten document. This
book documents his travel through our courts. After numerous attorneys refused
his case, he decided to take on the case alone. It is full of court records and
summations. It is obvious that he is very well educated to create drafts and
file the proper papers, not only for his original court case but his appeal
after he lost the first. It is plain to me that this book was written to prove a
point for him.
After reading the whole
book I still feel that we the people have a valid Freedom of Information and
Child Protection Laws to protect us all. I honestly believe Mr. Bloch cannot
"see the forest for the trees".
