"Loving Lady Marcia" by Kieran Kramer {Author Interview & Review}

Welcome to My Cozie Corner's stop on the "Loving Lady Marcia" book tour. This tour is brought to you by Innovative Book Tours.

Book Description:

In the House of Brady, three very lovely girls have hair of gold—and hearts to match—but finding a match among the gentlemen of London is one comedy of errors that could bring down the house…

MARCIA GETS SCHOOLED…
Of the three Brady sisters, Lady Marcia has always seemed the girl most likely to lead a perfectly charmed life. But after a handsome cad breaks her heart in LOVING LADY MARCIA (St. Martin’s Press Paperbacks; Aug. 28, 2012) she swears off love and devotes her life to teaching girls at a private school. In spite of her family’s wish for a London debut, Marcia is happy where she is—until terrible news sends her back to the Brady clan…and into the arms of an unexpected suitor.

ON THE SUBJECT OF LOVE
A dark and dashing earl who knows Marcia’s past, Duncan Lattimore is surprised by what a fascinating and independent woman she’s become. Marcia, too, is surprised—by the fiery attraction she feels for Duncan. But why—why—must he be the brother of the scoundrel who broke her heart? Why must Marcia’s rival at school forbid her from seeing him? How can this lady possibly resist this fellow—when they know that it’s much more than a hunch…?

About the Author, Kieran Kramer:

Double Rita®-finalist and USA Today bestseller Kieran Kramer is the author of the lighthearted Regency historical romance series, The Impossible Bachelors, published by St. Martin’s Press. She has a new six-book contract with St. Martin’s for another Regency series called The House of Brady, premiering in August 2012 with LOVING LADY MARCIA. A former CIA employee, journalist, and English teacher, Kieran’s also a game show veteran, karaoke enthusiast, and general adventurer. Without doubt her greatest adventure, which she’s taken hand-in-hand with her husband of 23 years, a commander in the US Navy Reserves, has been mothering their three children.

Kieran’s tagline: Love changes everything…

Interview with the Author, Kieran Kramer:

What inspires you when you write?

My core belief, which is that LOVE CHANGES EVERYTHING. I’ve seen it happen in my life and in the lives of people I love—my family and friends. I’ve also seen it happen all around the globe, in  amazing news stories I read of people who have been transformed by the power of love. It’s my whole  reason for writing.

Do you have a favorite spot to write?

Yes, I do! But it depends upon which point of the book I’m at.

The majority of my book: I write in my office, which looks out over my backyard. I see trees and leaves and nature. I love that.

The end of my book: I hole up upstairs in the spare bedroom. It’s sunny but it’s isolated, like a treehouse.

Who is your favorite author(s)?

Of all time? This is a toughie. Can I cheat and tell you SOME of my favorites?

Harper Lee
Betty Smith
Mark Twain
Charles Dickens

And in romance, women’s fiction, chick lit, and mainstream:

LaVyrle Spencer
Susan Elizabeth Phillips
Jennifer Crusie
Sophie Kinsella
Mary Balogh
Kristin Hannah
Janet Evanovich
Jayne Ann Krentz
Cherry Adair
Debbie Macomber
And so, so many more!!!!

What are you reading now?

Robyn Carr’s Virgin River series—I’m starting with a book near the end, REDWOOD BEND, but

I want to go back to the beginning.

Any tips to new writers out there?

Oh, yes. I wrote this “I AM A WRITER” affirmation up to debut on your blog. I hope you and your followers who like to write will feel free to use it when you need a boost. I believe every word of it. I  plan to post it on Facebook and make it into a bookmark and meme in a few weeks.

The most important thing, my fellow writers, is to BELIEVE IN YOURSELF.

I want you to know, too, that I am a writer first—an author second.

We are all writers together.

I—Inside me is a powerful force, my own creativity that is like no one else’s.

A—Answers won’t come about plot problems immediately, but I trust they will show up.

M—Maybe no one around me writes, but that doesn’t make me weird—that makes me special.

A—Always, I’ll hold the dream close; I’ll be fierce and protect it the way I would my kids.

W—Whenever doubts creep in, I’ll look them square in the eye and say, “You can leave now.”

R—Ready or not, I’m moving forward—because the truth is, none of us is ever really ready.

I—I love my imagination; it’s wild; it’s free; it’s me. And no one has one like mine.

T—Together, we writers can make a difference in this world. We speak the truth.

E—Everyone has a story to tell, so I will listen. What is the world saying to me?

R—Remembering that I deserve to love myself through writing ups and downs is key.

Review:

Ms. Kramer pens "Loving Lady Marcia" with strong characters in this well written, amazing historical romance that basically centers around the TV show, "The Brady Bunch".  I was pleasantly surprised in that it just hooked me from beginning to end....a truly fun read.  Highly recommended for everyone who enjoys a good historical romance and of course "The Brady Bunch".

I give "Loving Lady Marcia" a 5 star rating.

  1. Hi! I'm so sorry I missed being here yesterday! It was my son't 21st birthday, and he's away at college. I went to see him thinking I was going to be here TODAY. My bad, and I hope you'll forgive me! He has Asperger's syndrome, so it was an especially wonderful birthday. (If you've never heard of it, the guy on the Big Bang Theory has Asperger's-my son's is not as evident as Sheldon's). Anyway, we were really celebrating how LOVE has gotten us to that special birthday. My son has had lots of challenges in his life, but it was because of love that he never gave up hope--neither did we. Love kept us all going. And love is why I write my books.

I hope your followers who write like my affirmation. And if they ever want to touch base with me, they can find me at Facebook or on Twitter. Thank you so much for being such a gracious hostess!!! I love your site--it's so pretty. And thanks for all your support of LOVING LADY MARCIA!!!! It's so generous of you to take the time and effort to feature the book and write a review. I appreciate all my readers and blogger friends so much!!!

Have a great fall, and I hope you have lots of great books on your TBR list!!!!

    Hugs,

    Kieran
